1) Spider Monkey, Ateles
Spider monkeys can be found from Mexico to South America roaming the treetops to stay out of harms way (ÒRainforest Spider MonkeyÓ). They normally have 2 arms, 2 legs, and a tail that are fully functional. Depending on if it is a male or female it can range in body length from 38 to 57 centimeters and have a tail length of 63- 92 centimeters (ÒRainforest Spider MonkeyÓ). If one of the arms was too get injured or amputated the monkey could use its long tail as another arm. The size and strength of their tail allows the monkey to grab a hold of a tree branch with the tail and swing out to reach fruit that would otherwise be hard to get with only 1 arm reaching after the injury. They can also use their tail to hold things like their other hand would have done.
